Responsibilities
This position provides operational direction and management to fulfill Fleet Feet’s purchasing strategy on our digital channels – fleetfeet.com and amazon. This position is responsible for footwear, apparel and accessories categories for Fleet Feet corporate’s digital business initiatives but not limited to strategic direction, assortment selection, budget management, product delivery, metric maintenance and inventory health/accuracy and reconciliation. In addition, this person will evaluate category success based on performance and inventory metrics while understanding needs based on sell through history and trend analysis.
- Assists VP of Purchasing & Merchandising and category leaders with in-depth development of assortments, collaborating on every aspect of the process, based upon anticipated channel and customer needs and interest.
- Provide market and/or channel research to explain current business trends and anticipate new trends or ideas.
- Cultivate relationships with vendor partners to build a positive working environment.
- Analyze category and inventory performance against metrics while reacting appropriately to the results.
- Purchase products for digital allocation, whether future or at once basis, to meet the needs of the appropriate channel.
- Oversee accurate data entry, maintenance, and cleanliness as it relates to product life cycle through each system.
- Coordinate back – end operations: order book maintenance & communication, inventory levels, pricing strategy execution, return to vendors, and other operational tasks as needed.
- Communicate new product information, promotions, and other MAP changes to the appropriate departments at the Store Support Team.
- Partner with Catalog Teams to ensure accurate upload of new products within the system.
- Partner with appropriate teams to implement category and product marketing initiatives to help drive traffic and support product sell through.
- Understand and improve processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Amazon 3P purchasing experience required.
- Experience with Amazon 3P inventory metrics, example: IPI score, etc.
- Intermediate Excel knowledge, example: Vlookups, Pivot tables, etc.
- Experience with markdown strategies in a MAP policy constrained system
- 3 years digital and brick & mortar purchasing experience preferred.
- RICS Point of Sale experience preferred, but not required
- Strong intuition for business and retail industry knowledge
- Ability to think strategically about issues and opportunities to accurately assess impacts
- Problem solver who enjoys challenges and takes pride in crafting the right solution
- Excellent communicator with the ability to listen and adapt
- Communicates with the team, stores, and vendors
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Willing to go above and beyond when needed
- Out of state travel, when appropriate.
- Local employee preferred though can work a “hybrid” schedule.

Additional Requirements: Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling. The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc. The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements. The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
