What are the responsibilities and job description for the EDS - Assembler (2nd Shift) position at Flexan?
Flexan is a global strategic contract manufacturer of custom high-quality silicone and thermoplastic components, sub-assemblies and devices designed to meet the critical requirements of Class I, Class II and Class III medical devices, as well as custom compounding and molding for precision parts.
We are looking for skilled Assemblers to connect parts into more complex components. As key members of our production team, Assemblers are responsible for the manufacturing of medical products by assembling various components according to established specifications and instructions, using a variety of tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
This position is a SECOND SHIFT Monday-Thursday which starts at 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM. Shift differential paid for this shift.
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
- Work in a clean room environment and follow the guidelines and rules for working in a cleanroom
- Perform assembly tasks while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining high product quality
- Perform visual inspection on each part as it is being assembled
- Use a variety of tools to assemble and/or package product
- Supply accurate and legible documentation
- Understand and follow quality procedures every time
- Check output to ensure the highest quality
- Maintain equipment in good condition
- Keep records of production quantities and time
- Report on issues, malfunctions, or defective parts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc.
- Ability in using tools (e.g., clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
- Good understanding of quality control principles
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- High school diploma
