General Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Financial Reporting to join our finance team and contribute to our continued growth and success.
- The Director of Financial Reporting will play a key role in supporting the Corporate Controller in all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, audit compliance, the development of internal control policies and procedures, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
- This role will be a key resource in supporting the Corporate Controller and finance team in evaluating transactions and researching, documenting and communicating accounting implications to the business for both external and management reporting.
- The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all external and statutory audits;
- Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and liaising with auditors;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and accounting principles;
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP;
- Able to read and understand complex and/or unusual transactions/contracts and identify issues, conduct research and draft technical memos;
- Implement and maintain of internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data;
- Draft new and revised accounting policies;
- Assist with accounting and policy training for the global finance team
- Respond to, solve and make recommendations on standard and/or routine business and accounting policy interpretation requests;
- Manage all aspects for foreign exchange accounting;
- Handle the balance sheet to guarantee precise monthly, quarterly, annual closing and reporting, keeping in line with internal and statutory compliance;
- Provide support and analysis to management for operational decisions including potential acquisitions;
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making; and
- Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA required;
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment;
- Public accounting experience required, Big 4 preferred;
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements;
- Hands-on, “roll up sleeves” mentality. Ability to act at both high and low level of work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with SAP S/4Hana is a plus;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
- Demonstrated ability to interact and team with professionals in various functional areas to resolve complex issues throughout the organization (tax, legal, FP&A, HR, corporate accounting and operational accounting).
