What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager position at Flight Center?
At Flight Center, we are seeking a passionate, focused, team oriented Bar manager to add to our team. The ideal candidate has demonstrated industry leadership experience, a passion for craft beer and cocktails, and a team oriented leadership philosophy that brings together all of the knowledge and experience that the entire team brings to the table. This person will have responsibilities that include (but are not limited to) the following.
- Interviewing, Hiring, and training Bar positions.
- Collaborating with Principal Bartenders in terms of creating menu’s and processes
- Creating/adhering to standardized training guide for bartenders/mixologists
- Guest satisfaction as measured by direct interaction, and monitoring of online restaurant review sites such as google, yelp, trip advisor, and facebook.
- Daily operations of the restaurant including opening, closing, sales reporting, cash management, line checks, etc.
- Writing effective schedules for Mixologists, Bartenders, Apprentice Bartenders, Barbacks, in line with general manager forecasts.
- Setting up daily floor plans in FOH to ensure efficient service levels
- Assist managing FOH labor costs to pre determined levels.
- The cleanliness and organization of all Bar related areas including the bars, keg coolers, dry storage, etc.
- Development of effective service models as measured by labor reduction and/or increase in guest satisfaction.
- Maintaining proper period appropriate dress, service, and attitude in Lost Luggage
- Maintaining effective communication between FOH and BOH
- Reporting to General Manager for all responsibilities listed above and all other restaurant level instruction.
- Average of 40-45 hours per week is expected
- The cleanliness and organization of the bar. This includes proper labeling of all perishable items, and optimization of storage space / liquor placement / glassware etc..
- Oversight of Preparation of cocktail ingredients, batched cocktails, garnishes, syrups, ice etc. This includes setting up pars to reduce product waste
- Setting up weekly/daily cleaning duties to be completed by bartenders throughout the week
- Submittal of precise costing break down for all new cocktails including all prepped ingredients involved. To be submitted to General Manager
- Bi Weekly inventory of liquor and wine and identification of variances.
- Weekly/Biweekly submittal of liquor order
- Standardization of liquor list as to eliminate dead stock
- Standardization of all menu cocktails recipes, and recipes of popular off menu cocktails.
- Day to day operations of restaurant
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Restaurant management: 5 years (Preferred)
