Job Description Job Summary: The Machinist will perform various functions associated with the fabrication of tooling and fixturing for multiple departments using various pieces of machine shop equipment. Must follow appropriate safety and equipment maintenance procedures. Candidate must have strong attention to detail. Machinist- Day shift, 7am-3:30pm M-F. Full time direct hire opportunity with medical, dental, 401K matching, vacation pay and more. TELEDYNE FLIR is seeking an Experienced Machinist. Role includes making tooling and fixturing needed for Optics, Assembly, and Engineering. Performs various functions associated with fabrication of tooling and fixturing including planning, layout, setup, programming, and operating multiple pieces of machine shop equipment. Works from prints and sketches to perform required machining tasks which includes cutting and shaping of metals and plastics to precision dimensions. Uses a variety of inspection tools to verify for accuracy and quality. Required to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Follows appropriate safety and equipment maintenance procedures. Ordering all supplies needed for the shop Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent education. Proficient math skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally Ability to use basic shop tools. Strong Attention to detail, accuracy, and safety Ability to follow direction and coaching from others. Minimal supervision required. Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
