Job Description:
The Digital Manager is in charge of planning and managing digital marketing campaigns that promote Florida Rising’s brand, messaging, and products. Their duties include planning digital campaigns, analyzing metrics, and identifying social trends. The Digital Manager is responsible for overseeing Florida Rising’s digital media efforts, online organizing strategies and campaigns, including websites, texting, digital advertisements, copywriting and social media platforms that include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. They are responsible for creating and curating shareable content to elevate Florida Rising’s issues in Florida. The Digital Manager reports directly to the Deputy Communications Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise the Digital Organizing team.
- Plan digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, texting, social media, and display advertising.
- Maintain our social media presence across all digital channels including regular monitoring of and posting on Florida Rising’s social media platforms.
- Measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns to determine the success of digital campaigns.
- Identify trends and insights, and optimize spending and performance based on the insights.
- Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies through digital marketing to highlight various issues affecting Florida Rising’s constituencies.
- Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests.
- Develop digital organizing campaigns ensuring Florida Rising remains on the cusp of emerging technology and platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Bigo, etc.)
- Serve as the second social media backup behind Digital Organizers.
- Write and create well-sourced digital content (newsletters) to engage individual supporters within our digital base to deepen their involvement in our work and develop their own leadership and move them to more advanced volunteer opportunities both online and on the ground.
- Strategize comprehensive paid media strategies to increase the organization’s visibility and campaign awareness via paid social media and Google ads.
- Assist Deputy Director with website maintenance, including writing and editing content, designing webpage layout, determining technical requirements, updating websites, creating backup files, and solving code problems.
- Maintain digital staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintain digital staff job results by coaching and developing employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Develops digital marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of social media management experience.
- At least 2 years of managerial or team leadership experience.
- Applicant must share a commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
- Experience in political campaigns, unions, or grassroots organizing for social justice issues is preferred.
- Clear passion for building powerful social movements through digital platforms and various communication channels.
- Comprehensive experience writing and editing copy for digital audiences across email, SMS, websites, and social media.
- Experience with digital tools/platforms related to volunteer management and engagement, such as NGP-VAN, EveryAction, Relay, Hustle, or Slack.
- Expertise in Facebook and Google ads; high proficiency in Google Analytics.
- Willingness to develop new skills, including in digital tools management, data analysis, email production, and other more technical proficiencies.
- Experience with graphic design in Adobe Photoshop or Canvas.
- Deadline and detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to excel in a high-paced environment with diverse teams of staff, members, and partner organizations.
- Ability to relate to people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Fluency in English is required, and capacity in Spanish or Kreyol is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation; travel may be required throughout the state.
