What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Trainer position at Fluence?

Fluence is hiring a Technical Trainer for our Arlington, VA location.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Technical Trainer will drive creation and execution of energy storage training programs in a way that is engaging and informative, to help transform the way we power our world. The position will work with internal/external customers to ensure training requirements are met for our products and services initiatives. This position will report to the Services Training Director.

As the Technical Trainer, you will:

  • Prepare and deliver high caliber technical training presentations, webinars, worksheets, and workshops to internal and external customers
  • Perform virtual, hands-on training (on-site or at a training facility), and job performance measure evaluations of trainees
  • Coordinate schedules working in cooperation with multiple project stakeholders including Channel Sales and customers
  • Maintain training content and revisions on Learning Management System (LMS) and utilize reporting within the system
  • Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design
  • Provide feedback and input to Installation, commissioning, and services documentation to include training content, technical manuals, or procedures
  • Evaluate results of training programs and make recommendations on training material and methodology and implement actions to continuously improve

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Undergraduate degree required with strong preference for technical degree
  • 10 years related experience in installation and commissioning of power equipment in the electric utility industry
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to interface with multiple levels of customer organizations
  • Experience as an administrator on Learning Management (LMS) platform preferred
  • Familiar with industry best practices on installation, cold and hot commissioning of systems
  • Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as follow-up
  • Excellent MS Office; programming, MODBUS/IP experience preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time in support of training schedules
  • Requires ability to physically bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb ladders/steps, and lift up to 40 lbs.
