Fluke is currently seeking a Global Product Manager to support its portfolio of premium calibration products. Reporting to the Fluke Calibration Product Line Leader, the scope of this role includes management of the full product lifecycle and application of FBS toolsets to drive delivery of results and acceleration of growth.

  • Owns product development activities, new product introductions, strategic VoC and lifecycle management of current portfolio of products.
  • Drives to deliver results against key metrics including revenue and margin targets, sales enablement, competitive analysis, and price positioning of solutions in assigned portfolio.
  • Leads Daily Management and Problem Solving when solutions in assigned portfolio do not meet business objectives of the greater team.
The Product Manager is the “mini-CEO" of the product families they are responsible for, managing all aspects of the product lifecycle. They lead all aspects of product conceptualization, bearing responsibility for the generation of the product roadmap from the development of business cases for new product plans and programs to the rationalization and retirement of aging products. This position plays an integral role in shaping the future of Fluke’s calibration business, emphasizing market work and connection to tangible, economically viable problems worth solving that form the foundation of the future product portfolio.

The successful candidate has experience conducting experiments and gathering customer insights to understand product feature trade-offs, workflow management and compensating behaviors, is capable of driving Product Lifecycle Management initiatives and is fluent in Voice of Customer methodology. Experience in leveraging data to drive decisions, proficiency in spotting and analyzing market trends, efficacy in identifying opportunities worthy of pursuit, and experience working in matrix organizations and driving cross functional actions are essential elements for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishes the vision for the product families and contributes to the vision for the entire product line.
  • Maintains responsibility for business performance to annual plan forecast & strategic plan, driving necessary action through all levels of the organization.
  • Builds robust plans and programs expressed in both product roadmap and business case forms.
  • Deep subject matter expertise understanding customer product feature trade-offs, workflow management and compensating behaviors.
  • Collaborates with Applications Specialist to drive Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM) rigor.
  • Monitors competition and global market positions, operates collaboratively with Commercial Sales to establish competitive selling enablement tools and to lend support for value-based selling
  • Fluent in Voice of Customer (VoC) methodology
Detailed Areas of Responsibility

Leads plan and execution of market research studies including but not limited to customer market sizing & trend analysis, technology, macroeconomics, intellectual property and competitive landscape analysis.
Leads ongoing analysis of marketplace conditions to determine groupings of customers likely to be uniquely receptive to an idea, concept, or value proposition.
Leads the creation and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative value propositions supportive of customer workflows within the focus segments.
Builds and maintains customer relevant product roadmaps.
Leads the successful conversion of key roadmap priorities into desirable, feasible, viable solutions that address problems worth solving via profitable business models.
Contributes to the strategic plan and supports development of strategic initiatives aligned with the company core strategy.
Accountable for product family growth and product family decisions influencing growth, including product tradeoffs, which markets & market segments to address & not address and why.
Maintains knowledge in the underlying basis for which customers value various features or functions.
Understands the decision-making process for product purchasing and the underlying basis for customer valuation of certain features or functions.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of various methodologies to gather VoC
Leads the process to uncover problems worth solving and to identify customer use cases, jobs to be done and pain points.
Understands and can articulate the market landscape and dynamics inclusive of market size, segmentation, price points, use cases, personas, and competitive landscape.
Defines table stakes and keys to winning as they pertain to new product or service ideas.
Leverages the business model canvas to identify opportunities to reduce time to market or optimize cost through partnerships or technology licensing.
Leads recommendations and decision-making on the establishment of value-based pricing.
Collaborates with Applications Specialists on needs for and approaches to, development of application-level collateral and sales enablement toolsets, sales support, associate training, and customer training.
Partners with Regional Commercial Strategy Managers and regional sales teams to understand regional differences in the market and customer, create NPI commercial strategy / go-to-market definition and execution.

Bachelor’s degree in Technical/Engineering, Business or Marketing; MBA preferred
7 years of progressive and broad-based product ownership, product development, product marketing, program management, technical marketing, brand, and/or product leadership experience
Experience in the calibration, measurement instrumentation, or other technical device field preferred
Demonstrated experience in leading aggressive and results-driven brand management and/or product planning strategies utilizing VoC analysis to identify growth opportunities for the company
Experience leading and operating effectively in a matrixed, metrics-driven organization
Experience working within branded B2B and/or B2C environments with exposure to large-scale projects and cross-functional team leadership

Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time

Everett, WA: The salary range for this position is $114,655 - $212,750

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
