PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
NATURE OF THE POSITION:

Fluoron is known for Non-Stick Surface Solutions. This job is part manufacturing at our facility and Elkton Maryland and part traveling to perform service installations. Travel is approximately 25% of the time.

The individual will become knowledgeable about the many interesting applications of our technologies, and work both in production and as well as directly with clients to solve their problems using our products.

No prior experience with technology is necessary – specific job skills can be taught to the right candidate. The job is very hands on as we perform a lot of the mechanical and packaging work in house. Experience with welding, construction, mechanical maintenance, power tools, electrical work, or forklifts, is a plus.

Sometimes this position will be physically challenging. Installations occur in a wide variety of environments, some of which are hot, dusty, and greasy. The Technician may be required to lift 150 pound I-beams with a partner, and carry a heavy tool kit while wearing a harness and other safety equipment. Many installations involve climbing scaffolding or ladders to work 40 feet or more above the factory floor.

When on these well paid assignments, long hours may be required. We want to minimize the time the client's operation is shut down and we work hard to get the project done quickly. Recognizing the commitment of our employees to get the job done right we pay for all travel and overtime.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have general mechanical aptitude and knowledge of typical mechanical tools
• Bend, stoop, twist and stretch and occasionally lift 75 pounds
• Be comfortable with heights
• Pass a background check
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Be willing to learn the measurements and math needed in the work
• Having algebra and geometry skills is a plus.
• Must be willing to travel on very short notice as required to meet customer needs at company expense
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, as well as work as a team player

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
