Background:  
The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are seeking a highly motivated sales-focused individual to help take the organization to the next level.  

The Dock Spiders, located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (between Green Bay and Milwaukee), are a member of the Northwoods League, one of the most prestigious summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country.  The Dock Spiders won the 2018 and 2020 Northwoods League championships in just their second and fourth years, and the city of Fond du Lac and surrounding areas are proud to call the Dock Spiders their own.  The Dock Spiders are owned by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a highly respected team in Minor League Baseball and the Single ‘A’ affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.  

Job Description & Essential Functions:
The Director of Business and Community Development will be an integral member of the Dock Spiders Front Office.  The main focus of the position will be to increase revenue via sponsorships, season tickets, and group/picnic outing sales.  Qualified candidates should have a sales background and desire to expand their selling opportunities.  Sponsorship and ticket sales duties consist of developing inside and outside sales possibilities along with working with current corporate partners and ticket holders. 

The Director of Business and Community Development will also assist the marketing efforts of the team which include social media, e-mail marketing, and website updates.  This includes assisting with hiring, training, and managing summer interns and game day staff members.

Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed.  All job tasks should be performed in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.

Responsibilities:
The Director of Business and Community Development will be responsible for the following:
  • Meet with businesses to promote sponsorships and partnership opportunities at the ballpark.
  • Understand and effectively meet or exceed individual and team ticket goals by prospecting for new inside/outside sales accounts through cold calls and telemarketing. 
  • Promote and sell all types of season tickets, group and picnic options to businesses, schools, youth sports organizations, non-profits, and individuals.
  • Develop and enhance positive relationships with clients through a high level of contact in social settings or by taking full advantage of other relationship building or entertainment opportunities. 
  • Work with Vice-President/GM to hire, train, and manage 10 interns and roughly 100 game day staff members.  Main contact for marketing, street team, and graphic design interns.
  • Work with GM/Vice President/Director of Marketing on implementing marketing strategies for radio, print, and social media.
  • Assist with team off-season press releases and coordinate all social media posts including updating of the team website.
  • Meet and greet season ticket, ticket package, groups and individual ticket holders during ballgames.
  • Key part of developing promotion schedule including theme nights, giveaways, and special events.
  • Help train and manage game day staff during games.
