POSITION OVERVIEW

The Floral Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the floral design and decoration aspects of the establishment, ensuring that floral arrangements, decorations, and displays enhance the overall ambiance and guest experience. This role involves guiding a team of floral designers, managing floral inventory, coordinating with event planners, and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the casino and resort through creative floral arrangements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • With the assistance of the Horticulture Manager and Horticulture Director, conceptualize, design, and create floral arrangements for various spaces within the casino and resort, including lobbies, event venues, restaurants, and more
  • Create floral recipes, cost sheets, order products, monitor delivery, prep containers, props, and carts for refrigeration and delivery 
  • Guide a team of floral designers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure cohesive design execution
  • Monitor floral inventory, including fresh flowers, vases, containers, and decorative elements, ensuring timely restocking and cost-effective procurement
  • Collaborate with event planners, decorators, and other departments to align floral designs with the theme and purpose of each event or area
  • Work within allocated budgets to source materials, select flowers, and plan designs that provide value while maintaining high aesthetic standards
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of floral arrangements by implementing proper care and maintenance protocols
  • Establish and maintain relationships with flower suppliers, wholesalers, and other vendors to ensure reliable and diverse floral options
  • Stay updated on floral design trends, industry innovations, and seasonal offerings to incorporate fresh and appealing designs
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of floral displays for events, ensuring timely installation and removal
  • Maintain high standards of design quality, ensuring that floral arrangements reflect the casino and resort's brand image
  • Contribute to the overall guest experience by creating visually appealing and welcoming floral designs that enhance the ambiance
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines for floral handling, storage, and disposal, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a floral designer or a related field is required
  • Leadership experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of floral design principles, techniques, and arrangement styles
  • Strong artistic and creative abilities with an eye for color, texture, and design aesthetics 
  • Experience in working within budget constraints and cost-effective floral procurement
  • Proficiency in floral arranging techniques and knowledge of various floral varieties 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with teams and vendors
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with floral suppliers
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to last-minute changes 
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory, schedules, and event coordination
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work 
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and managing multiple floral projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to adapt designs to suit various themes, occasions, and guest preferences
  • Understanding of event planning and setup to coordinate floral designs accordingly
  • Familiarity with proper handling, care, and disposal of flowers
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle and arrange delicate flowers and plants
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES    

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities but will assist with guiding and leading a team of Floral Designers.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
