Job Position: HR Assistant
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Wage: $25 per hour
Location: Lincolnwood, IL
Job Summary
As a Food for Thought HR Assistant, you will work alongside the HR team to support all facets of the Human Resources department including but not limited to Onboarding, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Staffing, Training, Safety, Labor Relations and maintaining employee records. You will support all HR goals, objectives, and systems. Representing Food for Thought’s Culture and Vision through best practices and embracing the company’s core values.
The ideal candidate has the interest to work in all pillars of HR with a current solid foundation of HR principles and systems. This candidate does not need to have mastery in each pillar, but some general knowledge in each area with a deep desire to learn more.
Responsibilities
- Assisting managers in recruiting and interviewing by conducting outreach, phone interviews and posting open positions.
- Managing interview processes from start to finish.
- Conducting background checks on potential employees in a timely manner.
- Supporting the New Hire onboarding process by conducting orientation, ensuring new hire paperwork is complete and entered into the HRIS system and accurately completing I9’s in a timely manner.
- Utilizing ADP to create, update and manage employee records and reports
- Assists in managing HR mailbox by responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Willing to learn and explain the company’s employee benefits programs including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, STD/LTD, etc.
- Supports the open enrollment process.
- Maintain knowledge and continuous learning on the latest compliance trends and laws through the guidance of the HR team.
- Collaborate with all departments on building the foundation of a trusting, collaborative, and high performing team.
- Assist in HR projects when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English/Spanish.
- Proficiency with MS Office
- 1 year of recruiting experience.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to shift workload and priorities.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred) is a plus.
- Excellent organization, planning and interpersonal skills and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal
- Ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment
- Team player, ready and willing to assist in departmental projects and emergencies.
