What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foster Care Supervisor position at Forever Families?
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct supervision to a staff that may be comprised of any of the following: Foster Home Licensing/Adoption Specialists, Foster Care Case Managers, Foster Care Intake Worker, Case Aid/Transporter and others as assigned. The Supervisor may be responsible for facilitating the Intake process as well as the clinical/treatment process of the staff. The Supervisor may be responsible for the recruitment, training, and assessment of prospective foster and adoptive parents, child assessment, child placement, monitoring of placement, and those court procedures, general procedures and paper work associated with the above named tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in a relevant field of human services with two years’ experience in foster care/adoptions, or a Bachelor’s degree in a (MDHHS Policy approved education field) minimum of 3 years of child welfare experience, preferably in foster care.

- Good writing and computer skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of the day-to-day activities of the staff
Provide Individual Supervision to your staff a minimum of monthly
Complete all evaluations annually for each employee, if new employee in the first 6 months of hire
Work with Licensing on facilitating CHILD/CLIENT Intake Functions
Work with Department Program Manager
Coordination/facilitation of the staff hiring process with Department Program Manager conducting interviews and assisting with onboarding for new staff for your Unit.
Assignment of new cases and coordinating the distribution with Department Program Manager
Monitoring case assignments for adherence to policy and procedures, includes participating in annual agency audit.
Assisting the Department Program Manager with policy/procedure development pertinent to your department
Have the ability to work in the U.S. legally.
Have a good driving record.
Be able to pass a criminal and Protective Services background check.
Assumes additional job-related responsibilities as assigned
Salary : $48,000 - $56,000
