Salary: $18-$27/hour based on experience
Forge Industrial Staffing in Warren is currently seeking an experienced Die Setter to join a metal forming company located in Warren, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the press is set up correctly, performing die tryouts and first piece approval runs, and supporting production to meet the timing and quality requirements of the company's customers.
Responsibilities for Die Setter
- Pull and set dies
- Read the Quality Process check sheet to satisfy the job setup requirements
- Verify that the dies are set correctly
- Run job for first piece approval until approved by Quality, making necessary adjustments
- Change perishable tooling
- Set the PLC's inside the presses
- Pay attention to detail, troubleshoot die set up and press runs to achieve optimal results
- Repair broken punches, buttons, shims, if possible. Contact Tool Room for help with more extensive repairs
- Support the Supervisor and communicate setup problems
- Assist in other areas of company operations as deemed necessary
Requirements for Die Setter
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing
- Training in driving a forklift
- Experience with Minster/AIDA Controls, HMS transfer is a plus
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of measuring tools
- Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA requirements as applied to die set up and press operation
- TS-16949 & ISO-14001
- Possession of Powered Industrial Truck and Overhead Crane Permits
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train fellow employees and communicate ideas to others
