What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Fort Freight?
Summary/Objective:
An Account Manager is the first point of contact for assigned customer accounts. It is expected to provide the highest customer service and loyalty to exceed customer expectations. The main objective of this role is to manage shipments, through creating, scheduling, coordinating, and communicating shipment details. These duties must be prioritized, so communication with both internal and external requests are done in a timely, effective and professional manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Engage prospects, develop new relationships, and close sales through various techniques
- Make outbound phone calls and send emails to establish strong business relationships
- Maintain quality communication with customers to facilitate account growth and ensure customer’s needs are met
- Manage your book of business and be the main point of contact
- Coordinate and schedule all customer shipments
- Effectively solve problems for servicing customers and maximizing resources
- Communicate effectively with your customers and internally
- Build strong relationships with Fort Freight’s Carrier Sales team
- Prioritize and respond to both internal and external requests in a timely, effective, and professional manner
- Document and follow existing standard operating processes
- Assist with quoting and customer portal management as needed
- Oversee freight acceptance and adherence to our awards and contracted opportunities
- Uphold a sense of professionalism, adhere to company values, and foster a favorable perception of Fort Freight.
- Other duties as as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree is desired
- Customer service or sales experience: preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast pace and high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and follow up
- Able to take verbal and written instructions and execute with confidence
- Proactively collaborate with other team members to achieve results
- Ability to improve processes and create efficiencies
- Confident in decision-making skills
