The registered nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care dependent upon the department's age group and level of nursing care needed. Guides and directs other members of the care team and auxiliary personnel.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Knowledgeable in the nursing process (assess, diagnosis, plan, implement, evaluate) and follows through with interventions. Develops and carries out plan of care for patients and utilizes appropriate resources.V
- Visually observes and interprets alterations in physiological and psychological status of all patients.
- Provides holistic nursing care to patients that incorporates family involvement.
- Reports alterations in conditions promptly and immediately to physician/family of acuity and patient's status.
- Documents care provided and data elements in the patient's medical record.
- Collaborates with members of the medical staff to provide quality patient care.
Requirements of this position include:
- Associates Degree, BSN required within five years of hire
- Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience.
- Attention to detail; ability to follow a defined daily surgical schedule; able to effectively communicate with care team, patient and family members.
- Current RN license to practice in the State of Wisconsin upon hire; BLS, ACLS, PALS; Certification in specialty area within two years of hire.
