What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scheduler position at Forte Family Practice?
We are a busy practice with multiple locations looking for strong individuals who posess skills that allow them to be detail orriented, efficient, and a self starter. As a medical scheduler for our Practice, you will be scheduling appointments for 15 Providers for 3 different offices. Our schedulers are the first point of contact for all patients providing consistent and superior customer service experience in accordance with the Practice's mission and values.
Our scheduling department will also be required to assist with scanning, faxing, scheduling follow ups for lab results, documenting patient charts, and more.
Other Duties May Also Include:
- To be a vital part of a dynamic team of 20 Scheduling Coordinators and Receptionists handling a high volume of call efficiently and effectively
- To put 100% effort into finding an appointment time that works well for each patient, with a medical provider who has the skills and experience necessary to provide the best plan and treatment for the patient
- To adeptly use InSync EHR software to schedule patients for medical appointments, procedures, and other services
- To demonstrate compassion and care when listening and assisting patients that may be having a difficult time or bad day
- To always show kindness and compassion to patients when assisting in person, on the phone, or any other means in communication
- To do your best to offer all open appointment times to all patients looking to schedule new appointments, follow up appointments, or any other visits– we want as many patients as possible to receive the medical services they need or require
- To accurately and professionally document the information communicated during each scheduling call on the scheduled appointment or in the patient account notes
- To always give 110% when attempting to resolve scheduling conflicts and find better appointment times for a patient
- To accurately update patient information in the practice management software
- To maintain strictest confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- To use exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting or communicating with practice employees, patients, providers, payors, referrers, or vendors
- To handle patient questions and/or concerns with exceptional courtesy, kindness, and respect, and in a timely manner
- To maintain confidentiality and respect for personal information of patients and employees of the practice
- To uphold the mission, ethics, policies, and procedural standards of the practice
- To foster a culture of inclusivity, equality, and respect between our employees, our management, our patients, and our community
- To follow all directives of the Administrator, as well as the office managers and Assistant Supervisors
- To report directly to the Administrator and scheduling manager

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
