COMPANY OVERVIEW: Forte Products – a Plastics & Fiberglass manufacturer, is unique in the industry because we offer multiple molding processes out of four separate manufacturing plants. Full Time | 2nd Shift:
Monday-Thursday (4:00 PM- 2:00 AM)
Training will occur on different shift.
Mandatory overtime as needed.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Grinder is responsible for ensuring all freshly molded parts are prepped and ready to for the next step in the products process. The Grinder grinds down freshly molded products until smooth, removes excess fiberglass, trims the product if specified in Work Order Instructions, and preps the part for the next step in the Work Order Instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment: Full body suit, gloves, safety glasses, and N95 mask
- Lead by continuous example and continually act as a team player
- Identify transfer marks from mold removal
- Grind imperfections from mold
- Drill necessary holes into product based on the Work Order Instructions
- Remove excess fiberglass
- Trim product with a diamond saw based on the Work Order Instructions
- Monitor and follow Work Order specifications and steps for grinding and prepping product
- Communicate with coworkers for any issues regarding quality that would hinder the Grinder to complete the step of grinding and drilling product.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to operate pneumatic tools
- Ability to inspect parts for imperfections
- Ability to maintain excellent safety and attendance records
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and plant supervisor in a courteous manner
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including overtime
- Ability to read and understand Work Order Forms
- Ability to move throughout the department, move and position parts onto the shop table from different levels
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school education, GED, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of all product/part acceptance criteria, including Forte’ Products acceptance criteria
- Working knowledge of quality expectations
- Knowledge of 5S requirements
- Basic math skills
- Ability to write and complete necessary paperwork
- Basic tool or power tool knowledge
