GL Manager
We are seeking a motivated, experienced, well-rounded GL Manager. This is a newly created position due to company growth. This position requires an organized, technically proficient accounting manager with an analytical mind and the ability to lead. The GL Manager will be responsible for reviewing a wide range of accounting activities including monthly GL entries and account reconciliations, preparing or reviewing schedules and analyses for internal and external reporting purposes, and ensure a smooth accounting process monthly. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams. The GL Manager role will report to the Sr. Manager of Accounting.
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close including, but not limited to, reviewing journal entries and GL account reconciliations for the areas including Prepaid & other assets, and reviewing Fixed Assets and Evaluation unit transactions weekly throughout the month to ensure FAM close on time.
- Responsible for Open PO Accruals, General Accruals, Deferred Cogs, Allocations JEs & Recons
- Review and prepare monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review
- Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditors, prepare PBC Schedules
- Assist in SOX Audit and fulfill SOX Compliance requirements quarterly
- Manage annual Fixed Assets Count project, prepare WW FA Count Sheets for all regions, coordinate with all region teams to perform FA Count, review and summarize FA count results
- Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
- Ad-hoc process improvement projects and management inquiries whenever needed
Abilities & Competencies:
- BS in Accounting, 5 years’ accounting management experience, including 2-3 years Fixed Assets Management experience, and 10 years’ minimum progressive experience in Accounting roles
- Large public company accounting team experience required
- Experience with Oracle R12 or similar global ERP system required such as SAP, familiar with ARCS system or similar Account Reconciliation system preferred
- Strong familiarity with common accounting issues, financial statement line items and financial metrics/ratios
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and ability to summarize conclusions succinctly
- Flexibility and comfort with continuous change, willingness to take on challenges
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to actively and attentively listen
- High degree of dedication to improvement and strong sense of ownership
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
