JOB TITLE: Fort Tour Guide Guest Experience Liaison
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a guest-facing position with a focus on greeting tour groups, event clients and camping guests, facilitating their transport to and from the island, check in and check out, as well as leading historic fort tours. In addition, each member of the Fortland staff is expected to pitch in with general island upkeep tasks as need and availability arise.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW
- Greet & Engage with Guests
- Coordinate boat charter & tour logistics and scheduling
- Help with other tasks as needed & available
- Provide quality customer service
- Communicate with Guests & Answer Questions
- Communicate regularly with Fortland Staff
QUALIFICATIONS COMPETENCIES
Preferred: 3 Years Guest-Facing Hospitality Experience
Great Communication Skills
Organizational & Administrative Skills
Ability to Give and Receive Constructive Feedback
Capacity to be nimble & creative with logistics & planning due to unexpected weather conditions
PHYSICAL OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to:
- Lift 50 pounds
- Be on feet and moving for most work hours
- Dress appropriately for weather
Preferred: Current Red Cross CPR & First Aid Certification
COMPENSATION
$18-25/hr DOE
This is a 1099 (Independent Contractor) position.
Parking in South Portland and Transportation provided to & from the island.
SEASON SCHEDULE
Start Date: Decided upon discussion (Flexible start date mid-April 20-June 1, dependent on additional labor skills, weather dependent)
End Date: Decided upon discussion (Flexible end date in September or October)
Schedule: Monday - Friday or Wednesday-Saturday (30-40 hrs/wk)
