Battery Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Service, Repair, and Maintain Fortress Power Lithium-Ion Batteries (24VDC-48VDC) in inventory.

o Electrical trouble shooting (charging, discharging, balancing, PCB replacement, cable harness replacement, etc)

o Mechanical trouble shooting (casing maintenance)

  • Assist Test Engineering department with specific customer support cases and services

o Battery repair

o Test Lab equipment maintenance

o Commissioning third party equipment

  • Manage stock of equipment, tools, and miscellaneous parts in service department
  • Coordinate incoming return of merchandise with logistics department.
  • Adhere to electrical/warehouse safety requirements.
  • 10% travel for customer service cases to site

Must have Qualifications:

  • 3 years hands-on experience working with

o Solar System Installation

o Metal Fastener Casing

o Wire Harness Assemblies

o PCB Mounting

o Relevant low torque construction

  • Organization and Cleanliness in relation to inventory management and Lab Equipment.
  • Confidence of hands-on testing with 48VDC and 120/240VAC systems.
  • Basic circuit theory (Power/ohm’s law)
  • Able to follow service-related procedures for trouble shooting, repairing, and replacing LV (48VDC) HV (600VDC) Lithium-Ion Battery Storage systems.
  • Proficiency of Lab Equipment (Oscilloscopes, DC Power Supplies, DMM, etc)
  • Time Management
  • Technical Reading/Writing Proficiency
  • Team oriented

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Power Systems

o AC Coupled Solar Energy Storage Systems

o DC Coupled Solar Energy Storage Systems

  • Electrician Skills
  • Construction Experience
  • Soldering experience
  • OSHA 10

Job Type: Full-time
