Job Description
As an Internal Auditor at Fortune Brands Innovations, you will play a vital role in evaluating and improving the company's internal processes, financial systems, and compliance with industry regulations. You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify areas of risk, implement effective internal controls, and provide recommendations for process enhancements. The Internal Auditor will also be responsible for leading and conducting audits, analyzing data, and preparing comprehensive reports for management and key internal and external stakeholders.
Position location: This role is designated as a hybrid role which includes working at least 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in our main office located in Deerfield, IL to foster better collaboration, connection, and innovation. This role also includes travel, up to 50% of the time. Travel will primarily be to our North American locations but some international travel may also be required.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan.
- Conduct thorough and independent internal audits of financial records, operational processes, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assess and test internal controls to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
- Develop a deep understanding of ERP applications (SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft), processes and architectures by leveraging existing system documentation, interviewing key contacts and/ or assessing business processes, architecture, and data flow charts to scope audit projects.
- Leveraging technology and processes (RPA, robotics, data analysis) to ensure more coverage in a limited time, for all audits is a key deliverable.
- Collaborate with the IT Audit team in data gathering, design and testing of data visualizations and helping with the data transformation descriptions will be a plus.
- Prepare detailed audit reports that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior management.
- Monitor and track the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to understand their processes, assess risks, and provide guidance on control improvements.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, accounting standards, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 2 years of internal or external audit experience, with a proven track record of leading and executing audits
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO)
- Proficiency in data analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams and present findings to stakeholders
