Position Summary
Responsible for managing all activities related to project specification, design, development, documentation, testing and implementation of business transformational solutions for manufacturing operations. Enhancement projects will support a variety of functions with an initial focus on Performance Analysis, Quality Management, Product Tracking and Data Collection/Acquisition. This role must work collaboratively across multiple functional areas to drive successful project implementation.
Organizational Relationship:
This position will report to the Leader, Continuous Improvement - Stock Operations and manage a team of direct reports.
Key Accountabilities
- Define functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, documentation analysis and Work Flow Process Mapping (Value Stream Maps).
- Provide expert knowledge and experience to develop the technical requirements to implement complex manufacturing solutions.
- Manage complex projects involving the development and implementation of manufacturing solutions.
- Possess the ability to generate business system reports and dashboards across multiple systems.
- Become an organizational IoT subject matter expert.
- Prioritize projects based on savings impact and allocate resources accordingly.
- Be responsible for technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of solution development projects.
- Manage onsite support for all start-ups at internal manufacturing facilities.
- Proactively work with stakeholders in order to define the best technical approach for manufacturing operations solutions. Engage with internal customers to understand plant centric requirements.
- Maintain technical skills and knowledge continuously updating them.
- Effectively apply Project Management methodology and embrace project standards.
- Proactively report on project progress against scope, schedule, cost and performance.
- Assist existing project sponsors in problem resolution and help define future opportunities. Provide support to existing solutions.
- Performs and leads continuous improvement activities using problem solving tools (BPA, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) to understand root cause and modifications to processes and procedures as appropriate.

Education & Experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving and change management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 4-6 years of engineer and/or leadership experience in manufacturing preferred.
- 2-4 years of managing a team of 2-5 direct reports preferred.
- BS degree in a technical or business related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years work experience with PLC’s, automation, or process control systems in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50%.
- Excellent understanding of key manufacturing processes in order to develop and execute operational enhancement strategies.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve on-site and remote application related computing problems.
- Project management – initiating, planning, executing project work.
- Experience developing user requirements and functional specifications for MES solutions
- Ability to effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority.
- Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills including the ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
- Lean certification or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn new software/applications.
- Knowledge of database and web development languages such as SQL, HTML, and JavaScript is a plus.
