Under the general direction of the General Manager and in conjunction with the SingleThread Team, the Morning Service team member works to achieve the objectives in sales, guest services, and satisfaction, service quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of the property.
Guest-Facing Service Management:
- Provide warm, humble and knowledgeable service throughout the property
- Liaise with restaurant and operations staff to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Assist with the curation of the guest’s experience both on and off property
- Full understanding of the coffee/tea program and provide best possible product to guests for breakfast
- Provide help when necessary to assist guests with check-out of the inn or help them plan their day in the area
- Greet and assist guests throughout the breakfast time
- Communicate and run food from kitchen to the guests desired breakfast location
- Clear and clean breakfast tables either inside rooms, study, or rooftop gardens
- Clean dishes that are used during breakfast time
- Iron and fold linen to assist with dinner service
- Roll hashi (chopsticks) for dinner service
- Vacuum and organize dining room
- Assist with any pre-service side work for dinner service
- Assist in creating a culture that encourages our staff to grow
- Support service teams
- Prepare all required paperwork including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner
- Ensure Kaizen mentality in quality of guest experience, service, operational effectiveness, employee retention, and satisfaction
- Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to peers, managers, guests, and vendors
- Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and service
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations/ordinances that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the farm/restaurant/inn, its employees, and its guests
- All other duties as assigned by manager
- Relevant experience in fine dining hospitality/restaurant operations
- Commitment to quality service, and customer service knowledge
- Commitment to genuine hospitality
- Excellent computer competency (e.g. well versed in PC and/or Mac-based MS Office, POS and PMS, OpenTable, Tock, or similar booking program)
- Highly organized with the ability to calmly manage multiple priorities under time constraints
- Great professional, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Ability to be flexibility and take initiative
- Ability to prioritize without being overwhelmed
- Exceptional communication skills in English (including oral, written, and presentation skills)
- Creative problem-solving and critical decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
- Extensive knowledge of Sonoma County and its surrounding areas including its history, wineries, dining options, retail shopping
- The ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
