Renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is expanding his global restaurant empire with the launch of Four Twenty Five, a new restaurant that perfectly blends culinary excellence with architectural marvel and sustainability practices. Situated at the prestigious address of 425 Park Avenue in an L&L Holding office tower, this restaurant boasts a remarkable design by the esteemed Lord Norman Foster of Foster Partners, a recipient of the prestigious Pritzker Prize. Four Twenty Five promises an extraordinary dining experience, featuring a main mezzanine dining level showcasing a stunning open kitchen. Enhancing its appeal, the restaurant also boasts a captivating cocktail lounge and bar, complemented by a 24-foot painting created by artist Larry Poons above the bar.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Events Manager will play an integral role in firmly establishing Four Twenty Five as premium, customer- and client-focused venues, that provides memorable, world-class event experiences that are second to none. The Events Manager must possess a proven track-record of managing internal and external resources in support of client events, budget planning, and collaboration across multiple departments and will provide the world-class expertise required for this year-round position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate and contribute to developing solutions for client challenges.
- Develop production schedules and manage internal and external resources in support of client events.
- Manage the entire process associated with hosting events at the restaurant, coordinate and manage the entitlements and expectations of the brand and client event sponsors.
- Manage expectations, processes, and multiple projects simultaneously, while operating ethically to protect the image of the company.
- Lead and oversee the event coordinators or senior servers onsite.
- Conduct site surveys for prospective and booked event clients, their agencies, and contractors while also serving as the key point of contact for service to clients and their agencies.
- Have direct oversight of sales & events.
- Develop operating plans and budgets to support sales and efforts to prospective events.
- Be responsible for working with management teams to maximize sales and optimize profits through the expert management of the events program.
- Participate in financial review meetings as well as analyze the financial performance of event programs and revenues.
- Provide training, coaching and supervision when necessary to boost event revenues and reach goals.
- Monitor contracts, quotes, marketing, referrals and leads, schedules and deliverables, and track expenses and reimbursements for contracted events.
- Create strategy for maximizing sales and performance in the market.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 2 years experience as Special Events Manager in high-volume fine dining operations
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Multi-Unit experience a plus
- Proven event management experience; strong contacts within the events and meetings industry; and an excellent track record of developing strong client relationships.
- Respond to events and sales inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain preferred vendors list including points of contact and valid insurance documentation.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures, safety and other laws, regulations, and requirements are implemented and followed.
- Must possess a working knowledge of the systems used within the company; Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc, Tripleseat, Resy, Avero, Aloha/Micros, Google Drive.
- Experience in managing a combination of full-time, seasonal, and contractor staff.
- Effective teamwork skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this position is $80,000-$85,000 per year Commission. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills, etc.
