Position Summary :
The Cake Decorator provides creative and skilled cake decorating capabilities, while ensuring they are in accordance with all established policies, procedures, standards, and Company values.
The cake decorator will be responsible for designing and creating visually appealing and delicious cakes and desserts for our customers.
They follow best-in-class standards set by Fourteen Foods and the DQ brand experience to customers.
Essential Functions :
Sales, Service and Community (80%)
- Prepare cake products according to cake preparation guidelines and decorate the cakes in a variety of designs and colors for display in cake freezers, while ensuring an ample supply of required materials on hand and ready to support the need of the customer.
- Always puts the needs of DQ Fans as his / her top priority and ensures the team provides a level of service that consistently meets or exceeds Guest expectations, regardless of sales channel.
Relentlessly pursues excellence in product quality, speed-of-service, order accuracy, cleanliness, and overall friendliness and hospitality.
Enforces safety and security procedures are followed at all times in order to protect customers and Team Members alike.
Takes proactive measures to prevent accidents and reports all safety and security-related incidents immediately per Company policy.
Additional duties as needed to ensure the support of the store and the customers
Systems and Process Management (10%)
Ensures all food safety policies and procedures are being practiced and maintained at all times. Preps, stores, and rotates cake products and materials according to product specifications, food safety procedures, and operating policies.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards that mitigate risk of foodborne illness or product contamination.
Administration (10%)
- When no Cake Manager is at the store location, Cake Decorator will train and develop cake staff, utilizing the Company’s internal development processes and systems to ensure cake decorating standards the business are met or exceeded.
- When no Cake Manager is at the store location, Cake Decorator will assist the General Manager and Marketing department with marketing the cake program in the community.
Performs miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.
Physical Demands :
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential function of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
The work is typically performed in a restaurant environment, with moderate noise. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, and talk and / or hear.
Team members frequently are required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Team members must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Team members are subject to extreme cold : temperatures typically below 32 degrees for a period of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hazards :
The hazards are only those present in a normal restaurant setting or while traveling by car on Company business.
