The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a Settlement Officer to join the Fiscal Services team.

What will you do?

Processes and balances all Settlements (e.g. monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually), monitors distributions and balances various funds (all funds associated with each Settlement including Refund and Reimbursement Funds.); distributes settlements to the various political subdivisions within Franklin County and overlapping counties; tracks distribution of funds by preparing a journal entry to move the money from one fund to another; notifies political subdivisions receiving the funds; compiles and prepares reports and submits reports to the Ohio Department of Taxation for taxes collected and reimbursements to be distributed.

Assists Political Subdivision Fiscal Officers, constituents, and county agencies both internally and externally via telephone, Teams meetings, in-person or email about taxes, valuation, tax rates, inquiries on Settlements, and other inquiries.

Responsible for preparing 10 Mil Certificates for Municipalities and assisting with processing/establishing tax rates for Franklin County.

Who should apply?
