Working with contacts across the organization, this role is responsible for various general ledger processing, including preparation of journal entries, monthly reconciliations, schedules for audit, insurance, budget and tax support, and collaborating with outside departments. This position works on a combination of standard tasks as well as some more nuanced month end journal entries and reconciliation.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and related reconciliations.
- Process routine and non-routine financial transactions (e.g. fixed assets, billing, payroll).
- Communicate with customers (peers, Fred Hutch department managers, Fred Hutch Partners and affiliates, etc.) to resolve accounting issues and share and gather information.
- Independently identify, research, and resolve issues within assigned work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years experience in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of two years experience in accounting or finance. Minimum of two years experience in conducting monthly/yearly financial statement close processing. Three to four years of such experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, follow up regularly, prioritize and ability to independently perform complicated and multiple tasks with minimal direction.
- Able to identify and resolve routine and complex problems.
- Excellent and pleasant oral and written communication skills by email, phone and in person.
- Comfortable communicating with both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Master's degree, MBA
- Active Washington State CPA license.
- Experience with the financials suite of PeopleSoft applications.
- Experience with EPIC software.
