GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assists the Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant,
Occupational Therapy Assistant and/or the Speech Language Pathologist, as directed, in the setup of services, transportation of patients and general support to ensure quality care is being provided to each patient.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties:
1. Assists in scheduling, transporting and transferring patients, as required, for rehabilitation services.
2. Participate in duties such as filing, copying, ordering equipment and supplies, compiling information for reports, data entry and communication with physician offices and family members. Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
3. Maintains general upkeep of therapy treatment and office areas.
4. Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to facility/corporate safety standards.
5. Complies with Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards as applicable.
6. Maintains positive relationships and rapport with coworkers, patients, family members and facility personnel.
7. Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum efficiency during assigned shift.
Ability to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
8. Adheres to established confidentiality standards as required by the community concerning community and patient information.
9. Attends in-services and staff meetings as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus previous rehabilitation experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend or crouch; use hands to manipulate tools, equipment, or control; reach with hands and arms, balance, life and perform medium to maximum transfer assists with patients. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The employee is required to have visual and hearing acuity sufficient enough to assess patient safety and ability. The employee works mostly indoors, and may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
