Paralegal

Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Dallas office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case throughout discovery and prepare for, attend and assist at trial
• Be familiar with and understand medical terminology or ability and willingness to learn
• Review medical records and prepare detailed medical chronologies
• Review, manage, summarize, and synthesize records and data of all kinds in various types of cases
• Prepare deposition summaries
• Prepare subpoenas and non-party requests in both State and Federal Courts
• Prepare discovery requests to parties
• Manage and track responses
• Draft timelines and create other demonstrative evidence
• Prepare meet and confer correspondence
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and able to learn other programs including document management systems
• Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3 years paralegal experience in a law firm
• Civil litigation experience required
• Experience with medical cases
• Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
• Experience working with paperless files. iManage experience a plus
• Must successfully pass a background/drug screen

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
