This full-time position is responsible for the daily production of meals and the appropriate culinary arts training to accomplish this. Keeps the Kitchen Manager informed of all equipment repair issues and food item needs for production. Coordinates with the Kitchen Manager on all special event menus and production.
Supervises proper preparation and techniques. Execute daily menu and assures proper utilization and availability of food stores. Supervise and assist and maintain cleaning of station and entire kitchen. |
AGENCY REQUITED QUALIFICATION
• 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience.
• If not Servsafe qualified must gain certification within 10 weeks of employment.
• Must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Must be able to work with a diverse population.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree in culinary arts, plus 5 years of supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen or degree in a related field as well as several years of experience in medium to large facilities working with the student population.
• Familiarity with formal lesson plans and curriculum development is preferred.
• Professional kitchen experience as a trainer is highly desirable. Have a high interest in teaching.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/MENTAL PROCESSES:
Lifting, hearing, seeing, walking, standing, talking, analyzing/interpreting, identifying, observing, and problem-solving. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
