What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mgr Materials Mgmt position at FRESENIUS?
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Directs Materials Management (shipping, receiving and warehousing) and Central Spare Parts activities. Receives, inspects, locates, delivers, issues, ships, cycle counts and generally controls the flow of materials from the facility to the end user.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
- Establishes Materials Management and Central Spare Parts operational procedures for activities, such as, verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Manages materials flow from receiving to shipping.
- Reviews and assists in MRP systems.
- Develops and reviews departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work order for repairs and initiates Capital Procurement Authorization for Lease Expenditure Requests for replacement of new equipment.
- Assists in the salvage of damaged or used material.
- Maintains and interfaces all international U.S. customs correspondence.
- Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
- Analyzes and proposes upcoming budgets for Materials Management and Central Spare Parts Crib.
- Monitors freight bills for correct account and work order charges.
- Maintains Driver Qualification files for Class A Truck drivers to meet U.S. Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations (DOT), including HAZ-Mat Certification, Endorsement, HAZPRINT, background check, Certification of Compliance with Driver License Requirements, and Medical Exam Report.
- Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensures all employees within the assigned team understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining effective internal systems and controls to promote compliance.
- Maintains general housekeeping of working area and plant.
- Interacts with internal departments and external customers; particularly in problem resolution. Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
- Provide technical guidance.
- Assist with various projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 6 – 8 years’ related experience.
- 3 years’ supervisory or project/program management experience preferred.
- APICS Certificate preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of FDA, GMP requirements.
- Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
