Frier Levitt, a national law firm focused exclusively on Healthcare and Life Sciences, is currently seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Life Sciences department in New Jersey.
The Firm draws on its experience representing stakeholders across the entire healthcare spectrum. In the Life Sciences department, Frier Levitt represents specialty, retail and compounding pharmacies, as well as drug manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and plan sponsors. We provide a wide range of legal services including regulatory, transactional, and litigation services. On the Healthcare side, Frier Levitt’s clients include large physician group practices, hospitals, hospital medical staff, ambulatory surgery centers, laboratory companies, as well as the complete panoply of ancillary service providers.
The Litigation Associate will enjoy a diverse workload and gain valuable, first-hand experience, including:
- Handling a variety litigation matters in State and Federal court and in arbitrations across the United States;
- Performing legal research and brief writing;
- Appearing at plenary hearings and conferences with the Court/Arbitrator;
- Participating in mediations;
- Arguing motions and appeals;
- Assisting in the preparation of discovery requests and responses;
- Conducting and defending depositions;
- Preparing witnesses for court and arbitration hearings;
- Engaging in extensive communication with clients and experts; and
- Developing skills to assist with trials and final hearings.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree, with strong academic credentials.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New Jersey State and Federal Courts.
- Licensing in NY and other States a plus, though not required.
- 3 years of Litigation experience preferred.
- Strong interest in practicing healthcare law.
- Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations preferred.
- Superior research and writing skills.
- Strong work ethic.
