Job Summary and Qualifications:
1. Demonstrates a positive attitude that promotes an atmosphere of warmth and caring.
2. Maintains patient confidentiality, privacy and respect.
3. Supports and provides excellent customer service. Consistently responds to all STAT needs appropriately. Refers customer complaints to the CSR Clinical Coordinator for collaborative problem solving.
4. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment. Corrects hazards promptly and adheres to hospital safety policies and procedures.
5. Demonstrates compliance with the principles and practices of Infection Control.
6. Selects, employs, and demonstrates the appropriate means of decontamination for all instrumentation, anesthesia and patient care equipment.
7. Inspects, assembles and ensures that all kits are complete and accurate. Takes corrective action immediately.
8. Wraps efficiently and demonstrates knowledge of proper means of sterilization for a variety of instruments and equipment. Assures that sterilization parameters have been met before releasing from quarantine.
9. Is proficient and knowledgeable in chemical and biological monitoring. Collects and enters necessary data. Documents appropriately and accurately.
10. Safely operates equipment identified in CSR. Recognizes malfunctions and reports to the CSR Clinical Coordinator immediately.
11. Acts as a resource person for staff and participates as a team member.
12. Attends staff meetings and all mandatory inservices.
13. Is dependable, punctual and does not abuse sick time.
14. Participates in the departments Quality Improvement Program.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalency or related clinical experience Knowledge of Medical Instrumentation and Terminology Preferred
