You are dedicated to creating a superior student experience and contributing towards FRCC’s organizational excellence.This is a .75 FTE position and you will work 30 hours per week.Please note: This is an on-campus position with an opportunity for hybrid remote work. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervise planting and plant care in Horticulture (HLT) spaces by students and staff, identify pests, create and manage pest control process. Manage HLT plantings across campus (irrigation, weeding, planting) and propagate plants for program-related projects and greenhouse stock. Coordinate lab setup, clean up, and schedule. Evaluate supply and determine what to purchase or propagate based on program needs throughout the year.Coordinate HLT marketing and student recruitment. Work with faculty lead to refine marketing strategy for HLT program, including attending tradeshows, high school outreach, and working with local business and industry partners.Manage cleanliness, safety and organization of HLT spaces. Evaluate use and efficiency of maintained spaces.Create and manage inventory, order materials and supplies, determine surplus and manage proper disposal of materials. Supervise and train student workers in proper horticultural skills, plant-life cycle, and plant science.Supervise and train student workers on chemical and mechanical safety, cleanliness, and greenhouse management.
