*Overtime and some Saturday shifts as needed*

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the semi-monthly payroll processing of a portfolio of communities which includes the full payroll cycle process from the proper capture of time, processing of payroll checks, reporting to governmental agencies, and processing of final pays. Customer service skills are of the utmost importance in serving our on-site managers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the processing of a portfolio of community payrolls.
- Maintains accuracy of the payroll database systems.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly state, federal workers comp reporting.
- Researchers state reporting requirements and wage and hour laws in each state that the company provides employment.
- Responsible for company compliance with state laws.
- Responsible for proper report preparation and distribution to ensure accurate booking of payroll to the general ledger.
- Designs and distributes management reports for analysis of labor costs.
- Sets up direct deposit and resolves direct deposit issues to include stop payment of payroll checks.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of time records, overtime, vacation tracking, sick leave, bonus and bonus payments.
- Ensures that final pays are processed accurately and timely, in accordance with state requirements.
- Responds promptly to employee questions and problems regarding payroll issues.
- Responds to inquiries of employee earnings from outside agencies.
- Processes garnishments for payroll deductions, to include calculations, tracking, and submitting for payment to the appropriate agencies.
- Ensures proper record retention and storage of all payroll related documentation
Other Requirements:
- 3 years experience processing high volume, multi-state payrolls.
- Understanding of Wage & Hour laws and regulations for multiple states are required
- Experience working with MS Office suite
- Excel knowledge required
- Paychex experience preferred
- Good communication skills, verbal and written. Able to function as a productive team member.
