The Program Manager (PM) provides outstanding customer service through the management, performance, and completion of major account programs. They will assist in managing and directing all phases of a program including: proposal preparation, quoting, new product introduction and volume production. This position develops and maintains key customer contacts and relationships. The PM while providing strong leadership to the customer focus teams (CFT), they will also monitor CFT metrics and develop improvement plans in areas including but not limited to customer service, financial performance, customer cost, quality, delivery and continually seeking value added business opportunities.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leader of the customer focus team (CFT). Prioritize and monitors all CFT activities.
- Acts as primary day-to-day customer point of contact and functions as the primary Customer contact in resolution management and responsible for the overall health of the customer relationship. Sets appropriate expectations with customers.
- Effectively explores alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment
- Responsible for managing all aspects of account program management, which operates in a (CFT) matrix management capacity with the following functional areas: production, planning, materials management, quality, engineering, and new business development
- Assign priorities to multiple competing activities quickly and effectively, balancing short and long-term needs
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing cost, revenue and profitability performance of programs, providing revenue forecasts and ensuring products are completed on time and within budget; provide pricing rationale and recommendations supporting quotations and proposals for new business opportunities
- Ensures accuracy of quotations to protect gross margin and validates the establishment of quotes to actuals costs comparisons
- Review and approve program expenditures within authority matrix. Conduct review of financial results and variances with management team and ensure ROI. Prepare monthly program financial and operational reports for management review, leading the management presentations and Customer Quarterly Business Reviews
- Responsible for ensuring that program operational metrics are in place and are effectively managed. Monitor key operational performance metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, price for value, and use of technology. Review company performance to standards on a regular basis reacting to metrics by identifying root cause and solutions
- Responsible for ensuring customer projects meet the customer’s expectations and are delivered on-time.
- Primary lead aligning stakeholders on deliverables, managing communication, championing meetings, and ensuring updates are provided to the customers in a timely manner
- Manages ECO activities including impact analysis, pricing, non-recurring expenses (NRE) and implementation.
- Ensures the recovery for costs related to ECO activity, Excess and Obsoletes, NRE and other miscellaneous costs.
- Identifies program risks and challenges early, escalates when needed and quickly works to identify solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university in a related field or equivalent combination of education and years of experience. (Degree in Engineering, Finance/Accounting, or Business Management preferred).
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive business management and/or manufacturing operations experience
- Minimum two (2) years in a Program Management role
- Experience managing programs from concept (NPI) through production; material control/scheduling, and cost accounting/budgeting
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen is an asset
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning Systems such as Oracle or similar systems

- Demonstrated ability working with complex reports and MRP database systems
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
- General understanding of financial concepts (i.e., budgeting and analysis) as well as planning, scheduling, and forecasting knowledge
- Applied knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project etc)
- Strong customer service focus
