Overview
We are hiring for an HR Manager for our LaserJet Printer OEM organization located in Hanover Park, IL. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in HR or recruitment, with a thorough understanding of HR policy and procedures. The bulk of the role will involve employee onboarding and organization design, culture development and engagement, retention, communications, and key partner for executive staff. There is great opportunity for enhancing and refining systems and policy development to build the culture. We are eager to find an HR manager who easily connects with people and has a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of the workforce and enjoys working in an organization that has a start up feel but in a well-established business.

Responsibilities:
- Create and implement HR strategies that facilitate the execution of the organizations business mission and corporate values
- Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures, using and improving HR existing and recommended systems and processes
- Maintain and enhance employee expenses, vacation, and other personnel packages.
- Assist with recruitment efforts by partnering with the Talent Acquisition team, and prepare employees for assignments by developing and conducting orientation
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale
- Participate in business planning and strategic direction discussion of the business and its ramifications including business expansion, reductions and or changes
- Responsible for the recommendation, development, execution, and ongoing maintenance of employee related policies that meet Federal and State compliance laws
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Support departments in the development and delivery of strategic HR plans to fit with the overall business direction
- Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, training managers to coach and discipline employees, and counseling employees and supervisors
- Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
- Build strong relationships with external suppliers, fostering trust and promoting collaboration
- Handle confidential matters with discretion
- Leads in the development and execution in all Employee Communications including Communications meetings, Annual Kick-offs, etc
- Leads or facilitates cross-functional projects which address continuous improvement of operational processes
- Provides guidance and counsel to Japan counterparts on all US related HR decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
- 5 years in human resources
- Strong Communications skills including public speaking, written communication, and the development of employee communications materials
- Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset
- Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems
- Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office/Microsoft 365
- This is a “hands-on” role. The successful candidate must have demonstrated competencies in all HR disciplines
- Must be comfortable interacting with employees across the organization at all levels
- Must be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in HR
- Detail-oriented and organizational nature
- Understanding federal and state HR laws
- Global experience and exposure understanding people related business and cultural difference and integrating these differences into business and process decisions is critical.
- Experience working in a Japanese based business preferred but not required
