TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Have a passion for serving clients and making a difference in the lives of children and families? Join the team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
The RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis to children with autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Essential functions of the position)
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
- Implement the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by behavior analyst
- Utilize safe and appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Assist clinical team with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
- Assist clinical team in preparing client materials as instructed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
- Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and the clinical team
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings
- Complete session notes within 24 hours of each session
- Engage in behavior compliant with the BACB Ethics Code
- Provide client specific training to other RBTs

- Little contact with others. Purpose of contact is to provide and/or receive routine information or documents.
- Requires normal, courteous interaction and basic interpersonal skills and tact to communicate with others. Non-routine inquiries and/or complaints are referred to others.
PROBLEM SOLVING
- Performs tasks following standard processes, allowing for little interpretation. Problems can be solved by choosing from clear choices spelled out by discussions with supervisor.
DECISION MAKING AND DECISION IMPACT
- Some independent judgment is necessary to select and implement the most appropriate solution, with frequent discussion/contact with a supervisor. May occasionally make recommendations to work procedures, policies and practices.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED
- Performs tasks under frequent supervision; work is subject to detailed checks at regular intervals.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work may occur in the office, from a remote office location, and from a client site. Occasional travel may be required. Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and driving are common motion requirements. The ability to make quick decisions, manage multiple priorities, be flexible, deescalate conflict, and operate in a fast-paced environment may be required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: High school diploma and 18 years of age
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field
