What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coding Game Design Instructor position at Fun Bricks LLC?
Bricks 4 Kidz is looking for coding - game design instructor to deliver in-person coding classes.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
You grew up using technology and gravitated to it early, possibly taking courses or even majoring with a technical degree (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Education, App, Games or Robotics Development). Your curiosity and desire to learn about coding, games development and robotics is strong. You have a passion for evangelizing tech and sharing your experiences with others, and you recognize the impact your contributions can make on the next generation growing up today.
Speaking of the next generation, you enjoy working with kids and have done so at some point in your past. You understand that this is not a “lecturing” type of instruction, but rather is as hands-on and engaging for students as possible. You know that making games can be difficult, but staying on that pathway and learning as much as possible can be extremely rewarding for kids!
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Lead a cohort of up to 8 -10 students
- Review our curriculum to be able to teach classes following the existing agenda.
- For the Game Design with Scratch & Python Course, this will include teaching general game design concepts, 2D game development, and more.
- Guide students through development of a stellar final project that will showcase their abilities.
- Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning a new suite of skills
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• You are eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of the newest generation of professionals
• Experience mentoring, tutoring, and/or teaching high school or early college-aged students
Pluses
You have experience working on game development projects, either as a team or independent, ideally using Unity, Unreal, JAVA, Python or Scratch. You are excited to learn more about your craft, and even branch out beyond your skills to learn other aspects of games development.
