ASRS Operations Training Specialist
Location: Remote (plus travel as needed)
Initial term: 18 months (position expected to run longer)
Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The ASRS Operations Training Specialist will play a key role in supporting ASRS capital projects and will be responsible for development and implementation of ASRS Technical Training (equipment, systems, and methodology), Safety Training, Job Instructional Training, and Continuous Improvement Training based on Adult Learning Methodologies, Continuous Excellence methodologies, and TPM (Total Performance Management) methodologies.
This position supports the ASRS Program, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and includes collaboration with the Education and Training Pillar, equipment suppliers, Digital Manufacturing, project teams and factories.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a Program training strategy for ASRS projects and the groups being impacted following business priorities in alignment with the ASRS Program.
- Collaborate with Divisional Education and Training, ASRS Program Operation Startup Leaders and suppliers to gain an understanding of specific situations requiring training and drive site training efforts including needs assessments, developing a training strategy, development of training materials, competence management and implementation plan.
- Collaborate with factory departments to assess ASRS training needs.
- Work with Factory Training & Learning Managers to deploy standardized ASRS training for operator & mechanic roles, which includes functional and technical competencies.
- Develop and organize a program of practical and technical instruction, develop a teaching outline, map work processes, and determine instructional methods that can be done timely.
- Maintain digital competence management platforms (Poka, Power BI, iLearn) and other solutions.
- Support and communicate training rollout plan for the factories including selection of key activities, priorities for rollout, scope and glidepath for results. Develop and maintain training calendars and subjects involved.
- Develop and maintain record keeping system that provides relevant information concerning training content, activities, and evaluation.
- Select or develop teaching aids to assist student s learning and retention of material, using various learning techniques. Select or develop a qualification checklist, testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training.
- Coordinate ongoing recommended learning strategies and plans for the Factory aligned with NCE principles.
- Develop and maintain online training calendar and library links to site plant training materials and procedures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree in business, HR Development or Training, nationally recognized training certification, with 3 years training experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in adult education, practical aspects of Training & Learning. ASRS and/or warehouse automation experience is a plus.
