The Program Manager will work closely with senior leadership and coordinate closely with our policy, advocacy, and communications teams. The Program Manager will serve as a liaison to key operational functions such as HR, IT, Finance, Analytics, & Membership.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide high level strategic support and project manage key internal priorities and projects in collaboration with the Vice President of Policy;
- Assess, manage, and implement systems and processes to operationalize the department’s strategic plan, enhance efficiency and utility, build internal communication and capacity, and facilitate change management;
- Maintain a current and robust understanding of our programmatic work, including an in-depth knowledge of internal and external relationships and developing a strong sense of institutional knowledge;
- In partnership with the Managing Director, coordinate the annual work planning and budgeting processes; coordinate inputs for periodic and institutional reporting; and oversee our operational budget, including requests for discretionary funds, managing the quarterly budget reprojection process, and working closely with key staff on their unit budgets;
- Serve as a key department liaison to stakeholders across departments (particularly within Finance, Operations, and Human Resources);
- Design graphics, develop web pages, and facilitate presentations that help translate the department’s strategic goals, streamline information, and connect team members across the organization;
- Participate in cross-departmental and cross-functional work groups;
- Monitor departmental needs, including implementing training and professional development opportunities (with a particular focus on project management capabilities), overseeing external events, and assisting with risk mitigation, as needed;
- Supervise and coordinate assignments for our undergraduate summer intern; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to our mission, purpose, and values;
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; project management certification preferred;
- 5-8 years of professional experience required, including significant program and project management experience;
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-team projects using project management tools;
- Ability to assess and improve systems and processes;
- Experience directly managing staff required;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment;
- Experience in support of executive/senior managers faced with the challenge of prioritizing their time in a complex, faced-paced environment;
- Experience in facilitating teams through collaborative processes;
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach with strong analytical/reasoning skills;
- Demonstrated excellent writing and verbal communications skills;
- Excellent computer skills required, including fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate Excel knowledge;
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and budget management;
- Dependability, diplomacy, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of humor are necessary;
- Ability to translate technical information for lay audiences;
- Ability to give and receive feedback professionally, and to provide openness and honesty in communications;

Pay: $124,000.00 - $162,000.00 per year
