What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catering Manager position at G-Texas Catering?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Catering Manager is responsible for all offsite catering operations for G Texas Catering and is directly responsible for implementing systems and front of house service standards as well as management of day to day operations. The Catering Manager is key in planning and management of catered events, including buffet layouts, required equipment and staffing.
- Assist with the procurement and inventory procedures
- Oversee day to day catering operations
- Maintain standards of quality and service
- Hiring and training of catering staff, waitstaff, and event managers
- Communicate with warehouse managements to maintain needed product inventory
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Communicate with sales staff to coordinate event planning
- Complete event staffing schedules
- Complete planning cutsheets
- Oversee production and service of catering events
- Manage team and create a motivating environment at all times
- Support management with project planning
- Ensure that appropriate Sanitation, Maintenance and Safety Standards are followed
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Food service training and experience in high-volume catering operations
· Ability to communicate with management, staff, vendors and customers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as training cards/manuals, order forms, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports like daily temperature logs and receiving logs. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to deal with problems and resolve them efficiently. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Dallas Food Service Manager certification and TABC certification
· Familiarity with Microsoft office suite and inventory systems
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
· Must be able to communicate clearly with other staff, supervisors and guests
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
