Job Title: Wine Tasting Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a charismatic and driven individual to join our team as a Wine Tasting Associate at Galena Cellars Vineyard. As the initial contact for visitors, you will be responsible for promoting the sale of wine and food by providing consumers with a meaningful experience through excellent hospitality and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Pour wines for tasting and discuss wine with visitors
• Respond to customer questions and provide information about wine, winemaking techniques, and winery history
• Effectively promote and sell wine and wine club memberships to guests
• Promote sales of food items from the restaurant menu
• Ensure all guests are served in a timely manner
• Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating the cash register and processing returns and discounts
• Maintain clean bars, tables, and work areas
• Assist in facilitating shipping of wine to customers and meet all compliance and regulatory requirements
• Represent the winery at outside functions as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift and move 40-45 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to effectively stock wine, liquor, and beer
