Position Summary:
Working with minimal supervision, leads a team of 6 to 8 Policy Checking Associates to review commercial insurance policies, obtain motor vehicles reports, and other activities related to branch operational support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises, trains and develops all Policy Checking staff.
- Actively participates in the recruiting process for team members.
- Perform quality assurance checks of work produced by the team.
- Manages job performance of assigned staff and utilizes approved corporate policies to deal with behavior and/or performance issues.
- Prepares performance evaluations
- Processes data and generates reports as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Associates degree and 5 or more years related experience required
- Excellent knowledge of the commercial insurance brokerage business
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience working with Policy Coverage issues or Commercial Lines with an Agency or Carrier.
- 2-3 years of experience directly supervising a team
- Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients of all backgrounds
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to direct and supervise a staff of up to 8 Associates
- Good organization skills
- Flexibility and open to changing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
