Patient Care Coordinator (PCC)
A successful Patient Care Coordinator candidate will have impeccable interpersonal skills, an eagerness to learn and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. The PCC plays an important role in communicating effectively with patients and maintaining an organized administrative schedule. The PCC greets patients and prepares them for their appointments, maintains the e-mail account, answers phones, communicates patient arrivals, coordinates schedules, and manages administrative records.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)
· Maintains a high level of professionalism and gains insight into customer needs while answering telephone calls and scheduling appointments.
· Manages the patient schedule through acquiring data from multiple parties and asking the right questions to ensure accurate information; works cooperatively with front office and back-office staff to ensure workable schedules
· Conducts reminder calls in order to gain the customer’s commitment and build confidence.
· Ensures appointments are distributed evenly throughout the day.
· Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism while registering, greeting, and guiding patients through their care and providing updates when necessary.
· Manages patient concerns and problems effectively.
· Updates patient information in computer system and on patient's chart. Solicits and coordinates patient referrals.
· Verifies patient insurance coverage.
· Collects payment from patients and reconciles daily cash reports.
· Manages the patient charting process – prioritizes patient charts and reviews them for completeness; retrieves and files patient charts and other dental records.
· Front office planning – maintains front office inventory and organization. Completes specialty referral forms.
· Gains insight into customer needs while providing a high level of patient service and follows through on patient requests and questions.
· Readily acts on opportunities and challenges that confront the front office.
· Works cooperatively and partners with all staff members and providers by providing help when needed and understanding the full function of the office.
· Builds patient loyalty and trust through direct and truthful interactions and confidence in dealing with patients, which equates into new patient growth via referrals.

· Previous experience with dental assisting is a plus!
