The Manager is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. Manager supports all all-store activities, such as ordering, merchandising, maintaining department conditions, and training department clerks.
The manager is responsible for assisting the Managers in leading the efficient, effective, safe, legal, and profitable operations of the store on a daily basis while maintaining the financial goals as directed by corporate.
Some Essential and Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
· Assist with interviewing, training, scheduling, performance, and productivity of all department team members
· Support with communication of information distribution to the entire staff
· Responsible for maintaining a positive atmosphere, spirit and morale within the department
· Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing time and delegation
· Support and execute division concepts and programs.
· Contribute in executing and meeting financial goals
· Must be attentive at all times to needs of guests and be ready and able to direct/take guest to items in question
· Must be attentive to guest flow and be flexible to move from one activity to another quickly as dictated by guests
· Ensure quality and consistent product availability and solutions to our guests
· Assist with safe guarding, controlling and monitoring all department assets, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for control of assets
· Practice safe work habits; maintain a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment; encourage team members to do the same
· Ensure department systems and processes are utilized consistently and correctly
· Collaborate with Department Managers for meetings with the department leadership team to effectively plan production and promotion goals
· Assists with coordinating inventory process and reporting
· Must be able to take care of all department issues which would include ordering, delegating, multitasking, forecasting, prioritizing and merchandising
· Ensure that Food Safety Procedures are adhered to
· Maintain stock levels. Keep the shelves full of ad merchandise and items kept in back stock
· Maintains 100% total customer focus with all team members
· Is available to respond to all store situation in a timely basis
· Uses professional discretion and observes procedures of confidentiality in managing staff and administering the program.
Some Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Minimum of three (3) year Manager/Grocery or convenient store experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. on a regular basis
- Perform all otherphical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking
- Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner
- Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word,Excel, and Email)
- Ability to plan and organize the activities of others
- Must possess leadership skills, maturity, and technical skills
- Ability to operate all ordering and stocking equipment
- Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Abilityto accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
- Ability to maintain excellent communication with all levels of operations
