Specific duties include but are not limited to

The selected candidate will act as Buyer for the tactical purchasing of components and subassemblies supporting production requirements. Will coordinate technical and MRP requirements into purchase orders with external suppliers in support of cost, quality, and schedule demands.

• Obtains materials, components, equipment, and services in a complex, electronics manufacturing environment.
• Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, service and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Manages new purchase orders, reschedules, and cancellations based on requisitions and MRP output.
• Expedites the delivery of purchased items in order to meet customer required delivery schedules.
• Serve as primary interface between supply base on all scheduling and material delivery issues.
• Provide supply base with forecasted requirements.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies whether they are pricing, quantity or receiving issues. Approves for payment.
• Managing master schedule changes with the supply base to determine and support material availability.
• Prepares and/or reviews quote requests and negotiates with suppliers within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Works closely with cross functional teams in development of new suppliers, new product sourcing, contracts, and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience
• BS degree in related field

Preferred Additional Skills

• Excellent verbal and communications skills
• Knowledge of lean concepts, MRP systems, and electronics manufacturing 
• Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office Excel software
• SM and/or APICS certification desirable.
