Portfolio Manager JOB SUMMARY:
The Portfolio Manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of retail ad commercial loan portfolio underwriting and management activities for lending teams within Gateway's retail banking commercial lending division.
Portfolio Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Assists in underwriting of commercial loans and preparation of loan packages.
- Ensures commercial loans comply with Gateway's commercial lending policies.
- Assists in timely gathering of appropriate financial data and monitoring and clearing of loan covenants and loan exceptions.
- Informs commercial relationship managers and senior management of financial trends within the commercial loan portfolio.
- Manages assigned client relationships within the commercial banking loan portfolio.
- Assists with monitoring of credit quality, financial analysis, loan extensions, cross selling of other bank products.
- Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Portfolio Manager REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, and practices.
- Excellent financial analysis, organizational, negotiation, communication, skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently.

Equivalent Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 5 years of commercial loan underwriting and/or commercial loan Portfolio Management experience
