Auctioneer

Bid-calling during scheduled auctions as well as assisting with all elements of live auction.

Essential Job Functions:

• Bid call – responsible for opening bid, accepting bids and closing bids.
• Knowledge of customer-consigned goods including furniture, antiques, boxed items, fine art, and other various items of material culture
• Provide efficient and courteous service to all customers at all times
• Functions as auctioneer, floor runner, and or clerk on auction day
• Cooperates with other staff in the performance of auction day activities
• Performs other related duties

A qualified candidate will have experience working in a live auction environment. Must be a licensed PA auctioneer. Willing to work with a new auctioneer wishing to learn the personal property auction business. This opportunity is open for those who wish to work part time a minimum of 20 hours per week; however we would prefer to find an auctioneer who would like to work full time and learn the ins and outs of the business.

Requirements:

• PA State Auctioneer’s License & Bond
• High School Diploma or GED
• PA Driver’s License
• Able to be on feet for long periods of time
• Ability to continually call sale for a minimum 2 hours

• Ability to perform computerized clerking a plus (AuctionFlex System)
